Deputy Finds Inmate Attempting Suicide

(TX) – A deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office was doing his rounds on Friday when he found an inmate attempting to commit suicide. The deputy immediately called for medical staff and attempted to resuscitate the inmate. Medical staff were unable to revive the inmate, Mark Reid. He was pronounced dead at 11:57 pm.

Mark Reid had been in the Bexar County jail since November. He was accused of continuous sexual abuse of a child. In Texas, that’s a first degree felony. The judge set Reid’s bail bond at $200,000.

As with all suicides, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death.
