Julio Trujillo Suing Bexar County for Failing to Release Him

Julio Trujillo was arrested in January of 2016 on a domestic violence charge.  An immigration hold was placed on him to determine his immigration status.  After the domestic violence charge was dropped the only thing keeping him in jail was the immigration hold.  Normally ICE comes within 48 hours.  ICE never came and the jail continued to hold Trujillo for 75 days.  Trujillo made attempts to find out when he would be released but was only told there was an immigration hold.  Trujillo’s attorney pointed this out as one of the problems with local law enforcement trying to do the job of the Federal government without the training to know what they are doing.
