Clothes For Court

Naturally when an inmate goes to court he wants to give the best impression he can.  One of the ways this is done is to wear regular clothes rather than a jail uniform but that is not a decision that the inmate can make.  The attorney of record for the inmate needs to get the judge’s approval.  Then the attorney needs to give a written request for the inmate to go to court in his personal clothes.

The written request needs to be given to the officers at the Front Desk at least 24 hours before the court date.  The clothes will not be accepted until the clothing staff verify the court order.

The Sheriff’s website has been updated.  It looks a lot better and has some good information.  We recommend you look at the their section on clothing exchange for inmate’s going to court.  Just click on the link.

Amelia – For items like money and jewelry you will have to go to Banking. Clothing will be brought up from the property room. Either way you will need to start at the Front Desk with the officers there.

My fiancé came to jail wearing open shoe sandles and I am wondering if I need to bring tennis shoes for him to wear. What do I need to do? Where do I find information about his bonds and what is the total of money charges.

Yash – His street clothes and shoes will be taken from him and replaced with the required jail clothing and shoes. Don’t bother taking him clothes, they will not accept them. You can get information on his bond by calling Central Records at 210-335-6201. They are a 24/7 office.

Theresa – Call Central Records at 210-335-6201 and ask what court your boyfriend’s case is in. You will need either his sid number or his name and date of birth. Once they tell you what court he is in ask for the phone number for that court. You can then call the court clerk to find out when he is scheduled for court.

Riley – If you mean to wear while they are in the jail, then no. Inmates are required to wear the supplied uniforms. If you mean clothes for court, you take those to the front desk. I believe it has to be on the day the inmate is scheduled to go to court. The front desk is staffed 24/7.
