Birth of the Boogaloo Bois

And now we have the latest right-wing, anti-government hate faction, the Boogaloo Bois (sometimes spelled boys). The term boogaloo, referenced a dance but has been taken over by this group and changed to mean an act of violence. This group hates liberal politicians but their main focus is on law enforcement. They are an anti-government group that believes in killing police officers. Their preference, so far, seems to be to rig their property and doorways with bombs to kill any officers who attempt to enter their property. Since they search for items to make explosives, it is highly likely that they are on someone’s watch list and officers could go to their property. But at least officers going for that reason have a good idea of what to expect. Officers coming for other reasons, such as domestic violence calls, have no idea what they are walking into.

Colorado Man Arrested for Possession of Explosive Devices

We mad a brief mention in a post about a Colorado man who was arrested for having pipe bombs in his home along with materials to make more explosive devices. At the time, there weren’t many details but more has come out since then. The individual is Bradley Bunn. He was helping to organize an armed protest trying to force governments to reopen. According to the Denver.CBSlocal.com  article, Bunn was going to go to the “rally at the Capitol with a firearm and possibly cause trouble.”

We have no idea if Bunn considered himself to be a Boogaloo Boi but we do know that he had an image on his Facebook page that had “When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty” on it. And we know something else. We know that when questioned by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agents, he made the following statement,

15. When asked what he planned to do with the devices, Bunn replied, “If I experienced a hard
entry, at 3 am, having been an infantry commander, it’s really tough to get guys spread out no matter
how hard you try. They still want to clump up ’cause of fear, and I know their, their, anyway, blah,
blah, blah.”

16. SA asked, “So a hard entry in the morning, you were going to use them on a bunch
of clumped up guys out front?” Bunn answered, “Fuck yes.”

Whether he considers himself to part of the boogaloo group or not, he was employing the same tactics that they do and with the same target. A hard entry would be something done by law enforcement. It would not be surprising to find that Bunn was reading information from at least some of the boogaloo websites. It’s clear that police officers need to be especially vigilant in this current climate of anger and hate.
